Angelo's second grade class is studying George Ella Lyons Poem Where I'm From. They re-wrote their own and recited it for Young Authors Night last week. Transcription below. You can read the original poem here.
I am From...by Angelo
I am from Xbox
from knee hockey sticks and balls.
I am from the greeny cat grass in the kitchen, smells like dirt.
I am from Xbox on the daybed.
The Pawleys Island waves.
I'm from when my cousins come over and have fun
from Kristin and Aaron.
I'm from knee hockey and Parks and Recreation
and from live TV.
I'm from the Boy Who Cried Wolf and when my mom saw wild horses and Uptown Funk.
I'm from the Big Mac.
I'm from California and Christmas.
Mac and cheese and enchiladas.
From when my dad broke his thumb
very nice and playful.
From my dad who is playful and fun.
From memories in my heart.Where
