Eulogy to the dead bird found in our backyard

Dear Bird,
I love you. You were squished. Now, let me get a tool and make you into a new bird.

Love,
Abraham

Trip to Portland Maine

We headed up to Portland to visit the Hughes and hang out over Memorial Day. Abraham and Hazel got along pretty great. Rye and Angelo didn't cause trouble. This left time for the parents to actually talk a little bit. On Sunday we went to Popham beach for our first beach trip of the year!

A visit from Cousin Elliott

Amy and Elliott came for a visit this weekend. Elliott continues to be an amazing oldest cousin and plays with both kids, who absolutely adore him. This weekend, Elliott teaches Angelo how to high five!

Angelo loves playing castle guys.

Abraham's preschool class

Today is class picture day. It was the cutest thing to see all the kids getting ready. Teacher Robin was meticulously brushing all the kids hair. My child, of course, was wearing a hat. That was probably a good thing.

Bones

Abraham has been interested in bones lately. A couple of weeks ago, he requested some attire with bones on it--meaning pirate stuff. He's been asking me what bones and teeth are made of. I keep meaning to look that one up. He's just kind of figuring out that we have a skeleton made of bones in our bodies. But then he also thinks that skeletons eat kids. Tonight, he was referring to a hard back book and he called it the one with bones in it.

Mother's Day

I was woken up at 8 AM by a naked Abraham handing me a tulip and telling me the coffee was almost ready. Then, I got to see the flowers Abraham had told me about a couple of days earlier and tried to show me the day before. Aaron made a nice breakfast and had also spent much of the night before making a picnic for us to take to the Arboretum.

We met up with a bunch of families in the Arboretum where Abraham and Lucy played for at least an hour inside a tree that was their rocket ship.

Angelo is one!

Angelo's top 10 favorite things:
1) Dogs
2.) Trying to feed himself with a spoon
3.) Blueberries
4.) Throwing a ball and chasing it
5.) Flipping through picture books
6.) Seeing his brother first thing in the morning
7.) Stacking cups
8.) Clapping whenever he hears anything remotely close to "yay"
9.) Breakfast, lunch and dinner
10.) Giving hugs and kisses-especially when dad walks in the door from work

Despite being ridden like a horse by brother every time he made the attempt to crawl, Angelo is officially on the move and pretty fast too. He's working on growing his two front teethe and talking. He now says "dog" in addition to "ball," "ma ma," "da da," and "Bru-tha."
