Sewing

Grandmom mom came down for Thanksgiving and brought with her some sewing patterns for knight costumes and all the material to make them with. Abraham of course was very interested. After a couple of days of him patiently asking when she was going to do some sewing, she finally had time to sit down and do it.

You can see from his face that he was mesmerized. And he sat there waiting for her to figure out the new machine and then watched intently as she sewed. He couldn't believe it and was so excited when the final product was ready. Hopefully he realizes this is an activity only Grandmom mom can do---we have enough request for rearranging, fetching, adjusting, finding, cleaning the clothes we already have. It's not going to be good if sewing is added to the repetoire of asks.

The same Abraham who often asks for things and then asks why you aren't getting it for him often in the same breath sat still for at least an hour for the sewing project. He loved the outfits but had an additional request. Angelo would need one to be his "knight assistant." So, he's sending grand mom mom back to Vermont with another project.

Of course this costume mania we live with is rubbing off on Angelo. He's been requesting to wear a cape and then "flies" all around the living room. Right now he's sitting in the bathtub talking to batman saying "Get up batman, batman's cape" over and over again.
